I asked the good people from www.ginb.it whether they could make me a tactical inspired stock for my Steyr LG110HP based on a photoshop’d picture I made.

This is what Antonio and Andrea came up with !

Did I already mentioned that a thing of beauty is a joy forever ?

My initial plan was to paint the stock black but the wood is way too gorgeous to not keep it the way it is.

Windicator for Steyr LG100/110

When you shoot Field Target, a windicator comes in very handy to estimate the wind before taking the shot. So I came up with this little device for my Steyr LG110.

More TX200HC Eliminator pics !

Custom turret

Many FT shooters use custom made turrets on their scopes. One of the reasons is they want more room to note the distances on the turret.

The reason I wanted one was because I wanted to be able to reset the turret to zero on the zeroing line without having to fiddle with allen keys. So, after discussing the matter with some friends, I came up with this.

This turret allows you to quickly reset the turret within seconds and without using any tools. How it works can be seen in the following video:

I use this turret on my 2008 Big Nikko, but have made this turret for other scopes as well.

MTC Optics Viper 10×44 IRS

Some time ago I tried the MTC Optics Viper 6-24×56IR SCB and I didn’t like it at all, apart from the reticle. Review can be read here: http://www.severi.be/airgunning/MTC%20Viper.htm .

This year I got interested in HFT and was looking for a suitable HFT scope. So when I got the opportunity to buy a Viper 10×44 from a friend, I didn’t hesitate.

Guess what, I like this scope very much ! Eye positioning is still critical to avoid a milky image, but when your eye is well aligned behind the scope, you get a nice and clear image. This might even be helpful for HFT as perfect eye positioning will minimize the parallax error.

Testing some tele lenses

One of most frequently asked questions in photography must be “which affordable tele lens should I buy”. If you are shooting Canon gear, the options often mentioned, are the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM (Canon 100-400), Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 USM L (Canon 400) and Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG HSM (Bigma). So, when I was in the market for a tele lens for birding, I had to make the same choice and at the end, I got all three lenses because I couldn’t choose and kept wondering which one was best.

Having all three lenses however was an excellent opportunety to compare them to each-other to see which lens suited best my type of photography.

A new stock for a TX200HC

So I asked LP Gunstocks to make me his Eliminator stock for my TX200HC. The stock is being made at the moment, being almost finished.
